Symphony Co Partners with Oasis Trust Oasis Academy for Community-Centric Hub

Symphony Co is thrilled to announce the opening of Symphony Studios, a groundbreaking partnership with Oasis Academy’s new Village St. Martin Village located in Tulse Hill, South London. This collaboration aims to establish a vibrant, community-focused hub designed to engage, educate, and enrich the lives of young people from African and Caribbean backgrounds. Symphony Studios will align its initiatives with the Oasis Academy's mission of inclusion, equality, and hope, fostering a nurturing environment for creativity and personal development.

A New Home for Symphony Co

We are excited to share that Oasis Academy has generously gifted Symphony Co a two-story building, which will serve as the cornerstone for this transformative project. This space will be developed into a state-of-the-art facility, set to house a range of diverse programs and community initiatives. The phased development will begin with creating multifunctional spaces conducive to learning and creativity, including technology-enabled classrooms, a library, and collaborative workspaces for arts and academic enrichment.

Empowering Through the Arts, Academia, and Advocacy

Starting in late 2024, Symphony Records will launch a "Music and Production Programme," offering instrumental tuition, music production classes, and a community gospel choir. This program is designed to be inclusive, providing free or low-cost access to ensure broad participation.

Early next year, we will expand to commence year 3 of our staple "Symphony Schools," a free after-school tuition and mentorship program focusing on core subjects aligned with the national curriculum. This program aims to support young black men in maximizing their potential and creating opportunities for future success.

Expanding Horizons

Symphony Studios plans to evolve its facilities to introduce extensive content creation opportunities, followed by the construction of a state-of-the-art music studio, study library and rehearsal space. This facility will provide young people with opportunities for music production, recording, and career development in the music industry, core subject academics and digital content creation.

Community Engagement and Future Plans

This partnership aims to serve as the new headquarters for Symphony Co in the UK, providing a base for our staff and volunteers and a pivotal community hub. Our focus on inclusion, mental health, and black empowerment will drive initiatives aimed at crime prevention and community intervention. By fostering an environment of support and opportunity, we are committed to making a significant and positive impact on the local community and beyond.

Future phases include national expansion through the Oasis Community Learning Network, focusing on fostering a broader sense of community and continuing our mission of empowerment and cultural enrichment.
